Scammers

Had a car with them. the cars were repossessed from them by their finance company for nonpayment on McCoy Motors part. The new company wanted me to send payment to them. McCoy motors said send to them even though they knew they were being sued. I ask who should I pay? Both parties said pay them. Car was shut down at my job by McCoy Motors and taken. The other company Strategic started sending me statements to pay. Told them McCoy motors got the car. A BIG MESS THAT COST ME MY DOWN PAYMENT AND MY CAR. SAD THAT PEOPLE CAN RUN A BUSINESS, KEEP PEOPLES MONEY AND ONLY GET A SLAP ON THE HAND. GO OPEN ANOTHER CAR LOT IN A DIFFERENT NAME.

My Bank Account Does Not Belong To You

On Feb 2017 of last year, I purchased a Kia Sorento 07 at Ride Fast in Lancaster SC... Didn't have a issue. NEVER had a issue with the vehicle.. just replaced tires..This past July 2018, McCoy Motors aka Ride Fast decided to go into my account using my debit card which i used monthly to make my car payments with and debit ..3x=$362..aka $100, $100, $162...the car payment was high if you were a customer of McCoy Motors, so the payment was $462...When I called McCoy Motors to find out why they did that, and what they had done by doing that, all I received was I'm sorry"...ok the money was recovered from my bank, and they did it again this time leaving my account -$357..and a hold was put on the account so that any money that entered the account would be taken... Mind you, thru all the time i had been dealing with McCoy Motors, I had a great relationship with them, if I were gonna be late I called or they called me or text.. This time, they did none of that, then tried to act clueless once I found out about them going into my account.. So, my bank Suspends my account because of 'SUSPICOUS ACTIVITY" W McCoy Motors...Bc I get direct deposits, I had to redirect all my deposits into a new account at another bank...I WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER ACCOUNT WITH THE BANK I HAD, AND I WAS A CUSTOMER TO THIS BANK MORE THAN 8 YRS...I of course filed disputes, but that don't matter bc McCoy Motors felt that my bank account was open and free for them to decided to take what they wanted when they felt, then play dumb in the process. Mind you, when I called them they played dumb then two days following i received a call from two different ppl about payments and they sit in the same office so it wasn't like they weren't aware of what was done...''I'm Sorry" is what I kept getting.. Ok, so, I take the tag off and return to DMV, recently...I call to McCoy Motors to come get the vehicle, and they tell me Call Ace Motors.... Well I have a text from McCoy Motors telling me that Ace Motors are in Bankruptcy so they insisted on me paying my payments to McCoy Motors and that Ace Motors was grasping at straws bc they wanted money...So McCoy Motors wants me to pay them the car payment but when its time to pick up the car call Ace Motors suddenly become irrelevant..ok..Got it.. I called Ace Motors, the number to Ace told me three times I called someone would get to me, then the phone would cut off.. Ok, I try and call Ride Fast in Lancaster SC.. Guess what..that number rang three times then said this number is no longer available in service...Hmmm Sounds like a SCAM to me...I have had the worst nightmare financially the month of July 2018 bc of McCoy Motors...You already financed me at 49% with a high car payment at least you could have treated me a faithful and loyal customer a little better...I've NEVER in my life had anything as such like this...The sales guy in Lancaster Austin is very nice but he wasn't who sold me my car.. HORRIBLE COMPANY AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT. I cannot speak on the cars other than the one I purchased was a good one...I hate to have to give it up, but I REFUSE TO EVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN... and to note...I was informed that McCoy Motors were ran out of Lancaster some time back, and reopened as Ride Fast...I'm just in disbelief...I do not have money to just let ppl take just bc they want to when a simple regular phone call text or something could a been done...

It's sad I had the same experience I purchase a 2007 Lexus Rx 350 from the car didn't even make it home broke down on the highway had to get a new battery and alternator before the weekend was over did get the car back for 3 days call then that Monday and told them what happened they would pay for even half of the repairs. Got the car back and the check engine light and VSC light come to find out I had 4 bad cylinders. When I went to pay my car note after getting repairs it was 1 week behind called it on and paid 1 week over the phone and the they took the other payment without telling me and call them and they hung up on me stating you owed it so we took it. Now they are being sued for 1.8 million dollars for fraud. God just don't like ugly!!!

Did you not test drive an 11 years old vehicle before purchase ? An average car will have had 2 or 3 owners and about 150,000 miles by then.

If you drove it, was it AOK ?

I'd find that hard to believe since it took such a dive so quickly. You get what you pay for and some lawsuit brought by someone else over another issue is most definitely NOT divine vindication for your error.

Can't get my tag from them to replace the paper tag....

I bought my car from McCoy Motors over 2 months ago and the paper tag ran out on 9/1/18. I have called them several times and keep getting told that the lady that takes care of the tag's is not in the office and they have no idea why I haven't received my tag. I have ask them to please have the "lady" to call me when she comes back in the office. I have not received a call back from them yet. My last call I was told that she mailed me out a new paper tag with a new date on it to replace the one that has expired, Well it's been a week and I haven't received it yet either. I don't know what to do to get a real tag for my car, and nobody will return my call or has no idea what's going on when I call them.

how are y'all making your payments?. also, do you know if the car is even in your name?.

I just got a car from them August 24,2018 and I had issues with the car and they told me to have it towed down there. I called all week and no one answered.I talked with the lady that is suppose to take payments and she helped me with finding out about my car.

I went down to the lot and no one is there. I don't known how I'm going to pay my car payment or get my tag.

Guest

Same problem tag ran out on ,9/4/18 no answer they told me to go to dmv report fraud and theft on car....

Guest

You may not receive your tag. They are apparently being sued for fraud. As of right now the lot is empty and the signs ore torn off the building.

Don't be taken by McCoy Motors LLC

I recently purchased a car for my daughter from this dealership, She is getting ready to go off to college and as a single mom I wanted to give her this car since I was never really able to get her anything really special. It is hard because her dad has never done anything for her and working part-time I couldn't afford anything beyond the bear necessities. I knew it would be a sacrifice but I wanted to just do this one for her. The dealership tripled to value of car and gave me a extremely high rate and lots of lip service. They then sold the car to another credit company who is now charging me $9.50 a day added to the car payments, which breaks down to only paying about $2 toward the car, that is only valued at $7000. I can't refinance because its has over 103,000 miles. I know it was going to be a struggle and food would be scarce but I probably will not able to buy food, or even the necessities for rest of my life let alone, give her anything while she is in College. I know i sound pretty dumb but I am not! I was just taken advantage of by a quick talking salesman, who seem so sincere but was a sheep in wolf clothing. On top of this this *** is in his 20s with two young kids and kept texting my daughter, she called me and said "mom can you ask him to stop texting me, this is *** I am just a child."

Mccoy Motors - Car Review from Pretoria, Gauteng

We had a terrible experience with Darius here. My husband is a US vet on partial disability. Due to a series of unfortunate events, we have a recent repo and are in desperate need of a vehicle, both to transport our family of 5 and to get my husband back to work. We called yesterday and told Darius about both our income and credit history. He said that they would be able to help us out with a vehicle. My husband specifically confirmed that if he physically brought in the information they needed we would be able to purchase a vehicle. We then RENTED a car in order to reach the dealership. He brought his info, looked at several vehicles. He spent several hours there and had it narrowed down to two choices. Darius said everything was good to go and that he just needed to finalize everything with his manager. He said he would give us a call this morning at 10:00. We extended our car rental by an additional day so that we could return to the dealership to pick up a car. Well, 10:00 this morning rolls around and no call. Forrest finally calls Darius around 11:30 only to be told "Let me talk to my manager to see if it's a no go". When my husband asked what he meant by that, he repeated the same information. My husband stated that he had been told that if he brought his information in we would be approved with out a problem, and said that if that wasn't the case, he'd been lied to and didn't appreciate it. Darius still gave what was essentially a non response. When my husband pressed him further, we were hung up on. My husband called back, got Darius again, and asked to speak to a manager. We were hung up on again. He tried again, and was hung up on again. On his third attempt to call and speak to a manager, Darius informed us that the manager was busy and would call us back in 10 minutes. It's nearly 90 minutes later, and unsurprisingly, no one has called us. So thank you for costing our already struggling family over 10 hours of time and $50 in car rentals. We understand that it will be hard for us to find a place to purchase a car with our credit history and what we can afford down, but that's why we completely upfront about our situation and confirmed our approval before spending time and resources trying to physically get to the dealership. My guess is that Darius suspected we wouldn't be approved, but didn't have anything better to do and hoped he might be able to push us through and get us by his manager so he could earn the sales' commission. Once he discovered that wasn't the case, he didn't want to waste any more time on us, including the bother of calling us at the promised time to tell us things had changed. Shame on you, sir, for lying to and disrespecting a young family and military veteran. If management actually reads this, we would still appreciate the call we were promised. Good old Darius should have the number. I will be posting this directly on your wall in addition to this review. I'll also be posting this on my status with your page tagged, and likely on any other review sites I can find as well. You have some incredibly displeased people on your hands here. In short, potential customers, I advise you to do your business with another lot, and if you insist on going here, certainly lyrics don't deal with Darius

Mccoy Motors - Tires Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My friend bought a car there early april 2015. She had it not even one week and the tires driving ot and the tires was wore down the the steel belts. When she was driving it, it almost caused her to have an accident. She took it into a tire shop in rockhill, south, carolina and they told her that the tires was absolutely not good at all and should have been replaced. She sent pictures of the tires.to.the manager, and hes said that she hit something to blow.the tire. How in the *** did she hit something and all four tires are bad. When we addressed the problem the manager wouldn't even talk with her just.just a salesman up to do his dirty work. She foled a complain with the better business bureau, and is looking into legal actions against mccoy motors. Im personally gonna talk to an attorney to see what the law is if i stand across the street and picked these crooks. I would advise anyone who is considering purchasing a car from these people to run like.*** down even consider stoping because you do, the have a bag of of.lemons just waiting for you. I will ne enclosing a picture of.the tire that was on the car when she bought it, so you can be the judge for yourself.

McCoy Motors, LLC BUYER BEWARE

If I can save just one of you from getting ripped off, I've gotten even with them. The only way to hurt a crooked, immoral business is to hurt them in the pocket. I won't lower myself to the OWNER'S standards by getting in anyone's face, cussing them out and threatening to throw them off the property instead of working the issue out in a professional and moral manner. McCoy Motors, LLC 3606 Highway 51 Fort Mill, SC 29715 803-547-**** www.mccoycars.com SHOW THIS CLOWN OWNER THAT RIPPING OFF HARD WORKING, HONEST PEOPLE IS NOT MORALLY RIGHT! My experience: I purchased a 2006 Mercedes The very first day, had error messages popping up on the dash Immediately brought back the car and explained our concerns They stated they would "make it right" They had the car for 2 days claiming parts were on order They called stating the car is fixed and ready Wife went to pick up the car and asked for documentation on the issue They told her the mechanic found nothing wrong and the error codes just needed to be reset at Mercedes dealership I got home from work, heard this news from the wife, didn't agree with this and immediately drove back to the dealership Talked with owner and explained my concerns He stated the mechanic states nothing is wrong and only the error codes need to be reset. I asked to put that in writing so that I had documentation and a legal leg to stand on The owner stood up from his desk, blew up, got in my face, cussed me out and threatened to throw me out I told him "Go ahead and lay just one finger on me." He said "You threaten me with a law suit? Get the "F" out of here. (If you are being honest about what's wrong with the car, why be afraid to provide documentation on what you're telling your customer?) I explained I already wasted 2-3 days with you telling me the part is on order and then nothing is wrong. I want documentation. I even offered to take the car to a Mercedes dealer and would split the cost with him. That was not good enough. If it's just an error code, why not be willing to do that to save a customer and his reputation The owner then stated he's been sued many times and never lost a case. That I don't even have the right to sue him because I signed some type of waiver. I told him I was going to post in public how I was being treated here and he replied "Go ahead any publicity is good publicity, now get the "F" out of here!" At that point I'm so disgusted because this clown is doing nothing but basically bragging about screwing me over. Why am I wasting my time trying to get the devil to do a good deed? It's just not worth it. I'll be a mature grown up, accept my losses and fix the car on my dime. Thank you for reading about my horrific experience with this dealership. I hope I've helped you in not making the same mistakes I've made. One last thing....I wish all of you and your families a safe & happy turkey day!

I went to test-drive a car. I was potentially going to buy it that day.

The loan's guy (probably owner) came out and for about 15 minutes used very aggressive sales tactics trying to get me to agree to buy the car without: 1. Telling me a price for the car 2. Telling me a rate for a loan from his source. He was rude and in the end he said, quote, "You know what, go buy a car somewhere else" and left like an upset gradeschooler.

This is not about the car at all, I actually liked it and came with down payment.

Just because I had a credit offer from another place he tried to force his offer on me. He didn't mention the terms and tried to get me to agree to getting the car before we even talked numbers. Then he got distraught about me not wanting to do it all in 15 minutes. The fault is partially mine, however.

When I walked in, I saw it was a redneck owned place and I couldn't expect much of a human treatment anyway. My recommendation is don't waste your time on them.

Their cars are overpriced by 30% of market value as well. Check Nada, Craigslist and Autotrader to see what the models go for.
